Asking for… is a party game. We keep what we store to a minimum and never sell it.
What we store
- The names typed into a game (yours and the ones the host adds).
- The questions written in the game, and the questions we add to it.
- Thumbs up and down ratings on each question.
- An anonymous device id, so your phone can get back into a game after a reload. No sign-up, email or phone number.
Why
- To run the game: show questions, keep everyone's screens in sync, and let you rejoin.
- To make the questions better over time, by learning which ones groups enjoy.
Anonymity inside a game
Other players, including the host, can't see who wrote a question. Your own questions are listed only on your phone.
Improving the game
Questions and their ratings may be used in anonymised form to improve the game, for example to find crowd favourites for other groups. Questions that name a player or mention private details of a group stay in that game.
Other services
The questions we add come from our own question bank. We don't send what you write, or your names, to any AI service. If that ever changes, we'll say so here first.
How long we keep it
We delete games, names, questions and ratings after 12 months. We may keep anonymised, non-personal question statistics (like how often a general question was asked or rated up, and its wording) after that.
Cookies
No tracking cookies. Your phone stores a sign-in token and your own questions so the game works.
Visitor statistics
We count page views with Vercel Analytics. It doesn't use cookies or follow you across sites, and it doesn't see your questions or answers.
Your rights and contact
